The Global Recycled Standard
is a holistic certification for products with recycled content. The desired effect of the GRS is to provide brands with a tool for more accurate labelling, to encourage innovation in the use of reclaimed materials, to establish more transparency in the supply chain, and to provide better information to consumers.
REACH testing
is the testing of products manufactured, imported or retailed in the European Union against REACH Regulation. REACH Regulation is a European Union Regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. REACH testing is one of the methods used to determine whether or not products contain restricted chemicals, or substances of very high concern (SVHCs).
RoHS
stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS, also known asDirective 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union and restricts the use of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. The substances banned under RoHS are lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), and four different phthalates (DEHP, BBP, BBP, DIBP).The restricted materials are hazardous to the environment and pollute landfills, and are dangerous in terms of occupational exposure during manufacturing and recycling.
