CHPO partners with CleanHub
Every minute the equivalent of one garbage truck of plastic is dumped into our oceans. CleanHubs mission is to build waste management infrastructure in communities where it’s needed most. By partnering with CleanHub we are proud to say we are enabling these communities to be at the forefront of the battle against ocean plastic pollution. The support from CHPO enables CleanHub to collect 21 168 kg of waste and find a solution for it before it reaches the sea or ends up in landfills.
2 billion people in coastal regions worldwide don't have access to proper waste management. At the same time, every minute, the equivalent of one garbage truck of plastic is dumped into our oceans. This is where CleanHub comes into the picture.
Unlike many alternative approaches that focus on cleaning up plastic once it's already in nature, CleanHub takes a proactive stance. Their primary goal is to prevent plastic from reaching the oceans in the first place, addressing the root cause of the problem. CleanHubs facilities in India, Indonesia, and Cambodia all intercept waste before it even reaches the environment by collecting it directly from households as well as waterways, and fishermen's bycatch from the ocean. They help build these collection systems, providing communities with access to waste management for the first time to prevent open dumping and burning.

After the waste has been collected, it is sorted into different categories so each material can be disposed of correctly. Recyclable plastic is sold to local recyclers, non-recyclable plastic is processed in the most environmentally sustainable way available.
"The problem with ocean plastic pollution is overwhelming and as a company working with recycled plastic we need to contribute to the solution. Every financial contribution helps to expand the model across coastal regions in this world and creates stable and dignified jobs for local communities. That’s why we have started to work with CleanHub" says CHPO CEO Viktor Telégin.
CHPO Brand's collaboration with CleanHub is one step to a shared commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable planet. By supporting CleanHub we are enabling communities to be at the forefront of the battle against ocean plastic pollution. Follow our work and learn more with the IMPACT TRACKER.
Adopt a beach
Together with CleanHub, we started the project "Adopt a beach". An initiative where you have the opportunity to make our world a little bit cleaner by adopting a stretch of beach in Valiyaparamba, Kerala, India through CleanHub. This is a unique area that is surrounded by water on both sides. In the area, there’s a small village with 350 houses, managed by a group of 26 women. This village is extremely impacted by climate change.
By paying 25 euros, you make sure 100 meters (328 feet) of beach will be cleaned for one month. You will also be providing these women with the income needed to protect their community.
Remember, drop by drop a river is formed.
